Following rules

Chapter two, The Magician’s Nephew

Uncle Andrew believed that rules didn’t apply to him because he was a magician doing great experiments.

Questions to Ponder:

When do you break the rules?

When do you follow them?

How has your behavior helped or hurt you?

What happened today that you want to remember?

Trapped!

Chapter one, The Magician’s Nephew

Digory was just starting to tell Polly he thought they should leave when his Uncle Andrew rose from a high-backed chair and locked the door so no one could get in to rescue them. Then Uncle Andrew blocked their only other route of escape.

Questions to Ponder:

Is there some part of your life where you feel trapped?

What would you do if you were free?

What happened today that you want to remember?

Explanations for neglected areas

Chapter one, The Magician’s Nephew

When Digory heard that Polly’s dad had suggested that the problem with an empty house might be its drains, Digory dismissed the idea because adults come up with “uninteresting explanations.”

Questions to Ponder:

What kind of explanations do you offer for the areas of neglect in your life?

Are you satisfied with keeping those areas empty and neglected or is there something you want to change? If so, when?

What happened today that you want to remember?
